Comet Metal Products Company was started as a die-casting company in 1919. By the 1930s they were producing toy soldiers. After WWII the Comet brand turned to Authenticast under different management. At that time production was in both the US and Ireland. In 1950 the Ireland factory burned down and the company had stopped production of it's figure lines by around 1955. They produced farm animals during the Comet era, and a different line of farm animals later during the Authenticast period.
