Cingulata

Cingulata is an order of New World xenarthran placental mammals with leathery shells, related to sloths and anteaters. The only extant families in this order The two living families of armadillos, Chlamyphoridae and Dasypodidae. Glyptodonts are a well-known extinct subfamily of large, heavily armored armadillos within the family Chlamyphoridae.
