North American Birds

Louis Marx and Company produced a series of North American birds. These have the species identified on the sculpt base. They were produced in blue soft plastic and sold with the Forest Animals series. They were made in hard plastic for sale on blister cards in red, blue, white and tan. There have been reissues or copies made in different colors or plastics than the originals.

Farm Series Birds

The farm birds were first in 60mm rubbery vinyl from Marx mold number PL-165

Birds model kits

Marx produced a series of Birds that, like Kaiyodo or Australian Yowies, are made of several parts that have to be stuck together. There have been at least two different editions (probably with the same bird species, but box is different - and so are the birds inside. While one edition (the one with the flatter boxes - "Contents made in Taiwan - Box made in Hong Kong", marked sometimes with T6157, sometimes with HK 6157) has mainly birds with spread wings, the other edition ("No. HK6157/U.K. - Empire made") has them with closed wings. Painting is also different.
