phylum Chordata Zebra-tailed lizards (Callisaurus) are a genus of phrynosomatid lizards endemic to the southwestern United States and northwestern Mexico. They live in open desert with fairly hard-packed soil, scattered vegetation and scattered rocks, typically flats, washes and plains.
